Welcome to Chard-Online.net

A new community website for Chard and the surrounding area will be launched on 15th July alongside my new book, Chard: A Town in Conversation.

The purpose of Chard-Online.net is simple: to help people discover what is happening locally and encourage greater involvement in community life.

The idea grew out of conversations with contributors to the book. Time and again I came across groups, clubs, charities and organisations doing valuable work, often without being widely known.

The website is not intended to replace existing websites, Facebook groups or newsletters. Its aim is simply to support local organisations by providing an easy-to-use events diary and source of community information.

How You Can Help

If you represent a club or community venture or an individual please add an event using the online Events Form.

The more events that are added, the more useful the website becomes for everyone.

Together we can help make local activities easier to find, encourage wider participation and ensure that more people discover the many good things already taking place in and around Chard.
